Our Company
SOLEGEAR has developed a suite of proprietary, energy efficient, non-toxic, biodegradable plastics. From the feedstock to additives to processing and coatings, SOLEGEAR maintains a focus on green chemistry and full biodegradability to ensure a healthy and renewable product life cycle.

Mission
To be the benchmark in the rapid development of 100% natural bioplastics, and partner the world’s largest
plastics manufacturers in producing safe, sustainable consumer and industrial products.

Vision
Petroleum-based plastics were invented beginning in the 1930s. Aside from the small amount that has been incinerated, all plastic ever created is still in existence today and most of it is garbage. SOLEGEAR’s vision is to act as one ‘sole gear’ in the global industrial machine, bringing manufacturing into the modern world of sustainability.

SOLEGEAR has worked with the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at the University of British Columbia since 2007. UBC has provided SOLEGEAR with technical testing and rheological analysis for its polymer technologies.

SOLEGEAR has received support from the National Research Council Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). Since 2007, the financial assistance as well as the technical and business advice provided by NRC-IRAP has helped accelerate the Company’s research and development efforts.

NRC-IRAP is the Government of Canada’s premiere innovation and technology assistance program, supporting small and medium-size enterprises across Canada.
