Press Release – June 8, 2010: Announcing Appointment of Industry Executives

Solegear Bioplastics Announces the Appointment of Industry-Leading Executives

Vancouver, BC: As Solegear announced its intent to focus on the commercialization of Polysole® – 100% natural, high performance bioplastics – many months of negotiation resulted in the appointment of Mr. Edward Trueman as Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. William Anderson as Chief Operating Officer.

As part of this expansion of the management and board team, Dr. Peter Kelly joins as Interim Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Kelly has been an advisor to Solegear and has over 45 years of chemicals and plastics manufacturing experience.

“I have worked worldwide for public and private industrial products companies,” explained Mr. Trueman, “but over the last six years I have answered customer and analyst demand for greater focus on sustainable bioplastics. Solegear’s Polysole® is the ultimate bioplastic, using only natural materials to produce plastics suitable for the highest standards demanded by the electronics, automotive, pharmaceutical and other industries.”

“It’s a big milestone for Solegear” said Toby Reid, who will assume the role of President and Chief Marketing Officer. “My original idea gave birth to Polysole® and now Solegear is working with the best in the industry to sell it. You can’t ask for more.”

While Mr. Trueman has over 30 years experience, Mr. Anderson boasts over 35 years in manufacturing operations and technology growth companies. He sees Solegear as the future of plastic technology. “It’s not enough to say you are sustainable without using products like Polysole. We understand, and have products for, the transition from oil-based polymers, but see every major brand producing 100% natural plastic products by 2015.”

Mr. Trueman has held senior executive management, operational and sales posts in both public and private ventures inside the Polymers and Chemicals Industries. He has led the commercial success of two polymer compound businesses to exit, the last to Dow Corning. Mr. Trueman holds a BS degree in Economics from Eastern Michigan University.

Mr. Anderson has a long and diverse operational career, with emphasis on engineering, equipment, materials and processes. He is an expert in plant operational layout, design and construction. Mr. Anderson has held multiple executive roles with both public and private ventures, most recently as President of Rycoll Industries. Mr. Anderson has also guest lectured at British Columbia Institute of Technology, and holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Queens University in Northern Ireland.
